  2. CNS Hospitalists

    CNS hospitalists at Inova Fairfax Hospital are dedicated to the care of neurology and neurosurgery patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The CNS hospitalists work closely with nursing staff and case managers on the stroke and neuroscience units. They conduct daily multidisciplinary rounds with the bedside nurses as well as nursing and case management leadership to ensure that all patient concerns are addressed.
  3. Coronary Care Unit

    The cardiology section at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus welcomes the opportunity to co-manage critically ill cardiac patients with house staff. The individuals in this large section are board-certified cardiologists who serve as the attending of record for patients on the CCU service and participate in combined management and teaching rounds. These faculty members also administer the CCU house staff lecture series. The medical directors of the CCU conduct monthly meetings to discuss the teaching service in an effort to continually improve the house staff experience during the rotation.
  4. Endocrinology Service

    The Inova Fairfax Hospital endocrinology teaching faculty provide comprehensive endocrine services at two Inova Medical Group offices in Northern Virginia and also provide full-time consultation for inpatients at Inova Fairfax Hospital. All physician faculty are board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology.
  5. Medical Critical Care Service (IFH Dept of Medicine)

    The Medical Critical Care Service (MCCS) is comprised of board-certified and hospital-employed critical care physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners who are dedicated to the academic mission at Inova Health System. The critical care physicians, also known as intensivists, conduct combined management and teaching rounds every day and serve as the attending of record for the majority of patients on the teaching service. These intensivists also administer the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) house staff lecture series.
  6. Hospitalist Program

    Who Are Hospitalists? Hospitalists are physicians who have made a commitment to devote their practice to the care of hospitalized patients. Our hospitalists are all board certified in internal medicine and have distinguished themselves as excellent physicians and clinical teachers.   7. Rheumatology Consultation Service

    The physicians associated with the Rheumatology Consultation Service provide both inpatient and outpatient consultation and treatment for patients with arthritic, musculoskeletal and immunologic disorders. Rheumatology Consultation Service is comprised of Drs. Ramona Raya, Yingxue (Lucy) Zhang, Pragya (Pooja) Singh and Lynn Gerber.     Graduate Medical Education Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Department of Medicine has a long tradition of dedication to Graduate Medical Education throughout the region. We started our own home grown Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2014 and graduated our first class in 2017. Prior to that inception, our dedication to teaching excellence and commitment was exemplified by our affiliation with George Washington University and Georgetown University Internal Medicine Residency Programs as their required clinical rotations on our inpatient wards and coronary care unit.
