  3. Child Life Internship Program

    (Last updated January 2023) Thank you for your interest in the Child Life Internship Program at Inova Children's Hospital. Our 600-hour internship program is accredited by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). The program runs for 15 weeks during the Summer session and 16 weeks during the Fall session. During this time, interns gain extensive clinical experience in the field of child life.
  4. Child Life Practicum Program

    Thank you for your interest in the Child Life Department’s Practicum Program at Inova Children’s Hospital. Our practicum is designed as a 150 hour pre-internship experience for students who are pursuing a career or degree program to become a Child Life Specialist. The practicum is structured so that students will complete 12 hours a week for the first 11 weeks, usually broken up into 2 – 6 hours days to get the most benefit, and then a total of 18 hours the last week for opportunities to observe other units. Weekend and consistent evening shifts are NOT available.
  5. Inova Fairfax Hospital Medical Laboratory Science Program

    Program Overview The Inova Fairfax Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Science is a division of the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. Established in 1963, we pride ourselves in graduating highly qualified medical laboratory scientists who are competent to enter the laboratory profession. Our staff includes dedicated and experienced clinical instructors, laboratory scientists, physicians, and administrators, all of whom participate in the education of our students.
  6. Medical Laboratory Science Program Admission Requirements

    Academic Requirements Academic Requirements Applicants to the Medical Laboratory Science Program must have completed a baccalaureate degree in chemistry, biological sciences or medical technology or must be enrolled in a degree program at one of the academic institutions with which the Inova Fairfax Hospital School of Medical Laboratory Science has a formal affiliation.
  7. Medical Laboratory Science Program Application Process

    Application Process The school will begin accepting applications for the program beginning in August 2024 on June 1, 2023.  To apply to the Medical Laboratory Science Program, applications must be submitted no later than November 24. Class begins August of the following year. Applications that have been received by the deadline date will continue to be processed. Applicants must submit the following: A completed application form (incomplete applications will not be processed).  The $50 non-refundable application fee (checks and money orders only).
