    James W. Leiphart, MD, PhD Program Director Neurological Surgery Residency Program It is an exciting time to be part of the neurosurgery program at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. In nearly a decade of neurosciences leadership led by Dr. James Ecklund, the former chairman of the Walter Reed Neurosurgery Residency, the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus has evolved from a level 1 trauma center with a busy clinical neurosurgery service to an academic center with a comprehensive neurosciences program. Inova Fairfax Medical Campus was granted a neurological surgery residency program in 2016.

    Inova Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship We are proud to announce the Inova Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship based in Northern Virginia, providing applicants an outstanding education as well as many extracurricular activities in the heart of the DC region. This program has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education for one fellow beginning August 1, 2021.     The pediatric hospital medicine (PHM) fellowship program at Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is designed to foster the development of hospitalists who will become experts in clinical medicine, education and research. Graduates of our program will be equipped with the skills needed to serve as leaders in PHM, advancing healthcare for children and adolescents. About Inova Children’s Hospital Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Falls Church, VA, about 10 miles southwest of Washington, DC.
  6. Curriculum: Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship

    The PHM fellowship curriculum is based on the curricular framework set forth by the Council of Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Directors and is designed to meet ACGME training requirements. At the start of fellowship, fellows will meet with the program director and a PHM faculty mentor to discuss their educational and career goals so that their individualized curriculum is designed to fit their needs.

    Kamilah Halmon, MD, FAAP PHM Program Director Kamilah Halmon, MD, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatric hospitalist at Inova Children's Hospital. Dr. Halmon completed her undergraduate degree at Spelman College in Atlanta and graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency at Inova Children's Hospital, where she was also Chief Resident. Dr. Halmon lives in Fairfax.
