Mission Statement The Inova Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program’s overall mission is to care for the diversity of patients and cardiac pathology in Northern Virginia and surrounding communities by educating cardiovascular disease fellows in the practice of cardiovascular medicine. Our goal is to train the next leaders in clinical practice, clinical investigation, and medical education. We will assist the fellows in developing the knowledge, skills, and attributes necessary to become excellent independent practitioners and lifelong learners.

They are guided through their residency by a dedicated, expert, and pleasant faculty of attending hospitalists, primary care providers, and subspecialists.

The Inova Department of Medicine offers a wide range of core and subspecialty conferences, and recruits distinguished speakers from both the hospital medical staff and the local community of private physicians. In addition to the daily noon lecture series, several conferences have been designed to enhance the learner's experience. Resident Case Report: Supervised by the chief medical residents. The Internal Medicine Residency Program is primarily based at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC) for inpatient rotations on the general wards, intensive care units, emergency medicine, general medicine consult services as well as the inpatient portions of sub-specialty consultative services. The outpatient electives as well as ambulatory training are provided by IFMC faculty members in Inova specialty clinics, select Inova-associated community practices and Inova Internal Medicine Group clinic locations.
