Aiding Patient Care with Animal-Assisted Therapies The Animal Assisted Care program on the Inova Fairfax Medical Center Campus was established in 2001 to complement recovery efforts by improving the physical and emotional well-being of our patients. Pre-Op Information Interview: Before your surgery, one of our nurses will call you to conduct a telephone interview. During your interview a registered nurse will verbally inform you of your Patient Rights and Responsibilities. If this interview does not occur before your scheduled day of surgery your procedure may need to be rescheduled. For your convenience, feel free to call us at 703-922-0088 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (M-F) if you have any questions.
