    Our Magnet Journey Inova Loudoun Hospital is proud to be pursuing our fourth designation as a Magnet recognized hospital in 2020. This journey highlights the excellence of our engaged nursing staff, quality outcomes, and ongoing innovation in healthcare delivery as our teams apply evidence-based practice and research to improving patient outcomes.   2. Professional Practice – Inova Loudoun Hospital

    Shared Governance A fundamental requirement of an organization with Magnet designation is to have an effective shared governance structure. Shared Governance is a decision-making model focused on empowering the nurses who care for the patients, the frontline of decision making. The Shared Governance councils are comprised of clinical nurses, clinical nurse educators, clinical mentors and clinical nurse specialists with representation from each nursing unit.
  3. Evidence-Based Practice and Research – Nursing at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital

The Nursing Research & EBP Council supports innovation and collaboration within our hospital and across the Inova system. We seek to promote a culture of inquiry among nurses at all levels and in a variety of practice environments, with the goal of generating high-quality knowledge and implementation of evidence into our daily workflow.

    Our Magnet Journey Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is proud to receive our first Magnet designation. Our journey to Magnet was well underway when the COVID-19 pandemic occurred. Through all the challenges, our nurses’ commitment to our mission, vision and values remain steadfast. I am incredibly proud of and grateful for our talented team here. To achieve this distinction during some of the most complicated and difficult years of our nation’s history truly exemplifies an extraordinary level of dedication, resilience and support for one another.
  5. Nursing Academic Education

    As a registered nurse at Inova, you play a critical role in delivering on our promise to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve – every time, every touch. In keeping with our patients’ changing needs for nursing care and improved outcomes, and to prepare our workforce for the future, Inova supports nurses in achieving their Bachelor’s of Science in nursing (BSN) or higher nursing degree. Paying for School Inova offers 2 programs to support current Inova nurses pursuing a BSN Degree. Each program has its own application and set of deadlines so please read carefully.
  6. Nursing Excellence Professional Development Awards

    A limited number of professional development awards will be granted each month for Inova nurses to support conference attendance and certification renewal not otherwise covered by your employee tuition benefit. Funds for this program will be awarded as reimbursement for some or all of your expenses for the conference or seminar you are attending or to reimburse the re-certification application fee for nurse specialty certifications (i.e. RNC, CCRN, etc.) . Amounts are determined at the discretion of Nursing Administration based on current organizational needs and priorities.

  8. Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice

    Inova Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Nursing research at Inova focuses on improving patient outcomes through meaningful nursing research endeavors and evidence-based, practice-based quality improvement. Each care site has a research and evidence-based practice council that empowers Inova nurses to advance clinical innovation and processes that enhance patient safety and experience as well as the environment in which nursing care is delivered and the care and well-being of nurses.
  9. Inova Medical Practice Survey

    About Our Medical Practice Survey Gaining feedback and insight from our patients regarding their visits is critical in our mission of delivering an exceptional care experience to every patient - every time, every touch. To do this, a brief questionnaire is sent to our patients a few days after their visit. This survey consists of questions that target various topics such as provider communication and overall office experience. So that we can attain as much information from our patients as possible, opportunities to provide additional comments are also available within this survey.
