Kathy has been a Physical Therapist with Inova Health System since 1991. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Marquette University and has worked in outpatient orthopedics for her entire career. Kathy is a certified lymphedema specialist and also an American Physical Therapy Association-credentialed instructor. She is STAR certified in cancer rehabilitation. Kathy is an active participant of the Breast Cancer Steering Committee at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.

Katie Counter is a state-licensed and nationally-certified athletic trainer with more than 13 years of experience. She joined Inova Sports Medicine in 2015 and she works as a clinical athletic trainer. She is trained in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, and works alongside orthopedic surgeons and primary care sports medicine physicians treating athletes and patients of all ages and ability. Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in athletic training at Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, VA.

Katie graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Nutrition Science in 2012. She earned her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in August, 2016. While at SU, Katie volunteered on two medical mission trips to serve in a Jacmel, Haiti physical therapy clinic. Katie is a graduate from the Virginia Orthopeadic Manual Physical Therapy Institute (VOMPTI) Residency program. She is an APTA accredited clinical instructor and is board certified in orthopedics. Katie is also an instructional assistant at SU teaching therapeutic exercise.
