    Michelle, a native of Northern Virginia, graduated from George Mason University in 1999 and completed her master's degree in physical therapy at Marymount University in 2002. During that time she worked as a personal trainer, coach and a professional cheerleader and dancer for the Washington Commanders. After completing her degree, Michelle started working at Georgetown University Hospital in acute care rehabilitation. Michelle joined Inova Physical Therapy Centers in 2003, specializing in aquatic therapy, orthopedics and manual therapy techniques.

    Dr. Michelle Abghari is a fellowship-trained breast surgeon. She joined Inova Health System in 2021 and has been practicing since 2014. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Abghari completed a fellowship in surgical breast oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick. Previously, she trained in general surgery at New York Medical College in Manhattan. She is originally from Detroit. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and went on to receive her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.  Dr.

    Michelle is a staff Physical Therapist at the Inova Springfield clinic. She has more than 35 years of clinical experience across multiple venues to include: hospital inpatient, home health, assisted living and private practice. The focus of her clinical practice at Inova is in outpatient orthopedics, particularly patients with neck or lower back impairments, and favors the treatment techniques of Robin McKenzie, recognized for his understanding and treatment of spinal disorders.

    Dr. Michelle W. Jeffery is board certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, and internal medicine. She has a special interest in the management of diabetes and pituitary and thyroid disorders. Dr. Jeffery served as a primary care physician for five years in Charlotte, NC before pursing endocrinology. She became interested in endocrinology after witnessing the impact diabetes mellitus had on her grandfathers. Through her fellowship training she developed an appreciation for thyroidal and pituitary diseases as well.
