Patients are seen as outpatients in the Inova Cardiology – Fairfax office located in the Inova Specialty Center, adjacent to Inova Schar Cancer Institute, or at Virginia Heart locations in Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun, Reston and Vienna.     Cardiovascular Genomics Program The Inova Cardiovascular Genomics Program specializes in the care of adult and pediatric cardiovascular patients and their families with inheritable genetic diseases (diseases due to biological fingerprint or DNA) and genomic diseases (diseases inherited and related to other environmental or acquired factors).     Our Team Inova offers patients the collective expertise of board-certified adult and pediatric specialists. Our congenital heart team includes adult congenital cardiologists and surgeons from Inova Heart and Vascular Institute (IHVI) and pediatric cardiologists and cardiac surgeons from Inova Children's Heart Center. Our team of specialists thoroughly understands the natural history of congenital heart disease and the techniques necessary to address it utilizing surgery or interventional procedures.

    Heart Failure and Advanced Therapies Program A diagnosis of advanced heart failure, also known as congestive heart failure or CHF, indicates heart disease that has progressed to a point where traditional therapies and symptom management are no longer working. Over time, the heart becomes enlarged and the tissue becomes damaged. Heart failure is most common in people over age 65 and is a leading cause of hospitalization for this age group.
