Hamid Pourshojae, DO, is a board-certified general surgeon with surgical interests in the areas of bariatric surgery, colon and rectal surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia problems/surgery and treatment options, and minimally invasive surgery.  Prior to joining Inova Medical Group, Dr. Pourshojae led a successful private surgical practice where he performed many advanced laparoscopic procedures including laparoscopic gastric and small bowel surgery, colon surgery, and laparoscopic hernia repair. Hamiyet Outzen is a primary care nurse practitioner certified in family medicine. She has a special interest in management of preventive medicine, overall wellness and the management of acute and chronic illnesses. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Hamiyet believes in a conservative and patient-centered approach to diagnosis and treatment. Her goal is to help patients understand all of their treatment options and to be full partners in their care.
