We believe your patient rights are important, and we will do everything possible to make sure that your rights are respected.

    Inova Children’s Hospital offers all private pediatric rooms as well as private and semiprivate NICU rooms. Each room is designed to give space to the child, the family, and the medical team to all function together.   Beds Please keep your child’s bed rails up at all times for safety purposes, as hospital beds are higher than those at home. Your child’s bed has a special panel to control bed settings, room lighting and the television. There is also a nurse call button. The parent sofa converts to a bed so that a parent can stay overnight comfortably with their child.

     Back to All Residency Programs and Fellowships Inova Children's Hospital's Pediatric Residency Program combines the academic rigor of a university-based hospital, the complexities of subspecialty pediatrics and the family atmosphere of a community program. Our residents benefit from an ample and varied patient volume, which provides numerous opportunities to hone clinical skills. This solid foundation in general pediatrics is supplemented by exposure to a wide variety of pathologies requiring subspecialty care.

    What do our graduates do? The graduating classes of 2018 through 2020 have produced 17 general pediatricians, 2 hospitalists and 17 fellows in a variety of specialties, including cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, nephrology, neonatolog y and infectious disease at top-tier institutions. What is the history of Inova Children's Hospital as a training institution? Inova Children's Hospital (formerly known as Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children) has educated residents and medical students for many years.

  10. Inova Children's Hospital

    PL-1 Year During the first year of training, residents acquire clinical skills and knowledge for the care of children through guided yet independent decision-making. All first-year residents complete the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course. The first year consists of 13 four-week blocks. Three to four of these blocks focus on inpatient general pediatrics, and one concentrates on inpatient hematology/oncology.
