What to Expect The physicians screen every referral in advance; if additional critical studies are needed prior to the multidisciplinary consultation, they will be arranged by our team. All patients are discussed in a multidisciplinary tumor conference the morning prior to their visit with a review of all pertinent radiologic studies and biopsy results (if applicable). The patients are seen by both the medical oncologist and the surgical oncologist on the same day and in the same office setting.

What to Expect To prepare for your visit to Inova Schar Cancer Institute (ISCI), the new patient coordinator will request information from you, such as important labwork, radiology studies, and biopsy results. If your referring doctor is not associated with Inova, we will ask for the contact information for your doctor’s office. In the days leading up to your visit to ISCI, our staff will call you with additional information. After your meet with your ISCI doctor, the treatment recommendations are communicated to you and your referring doctor.
