    What to Expect To prepare for your visit to Inova Schar Cancer Institute (ISCI), the new patient coordinator will request information from you, such as important labwork, radiology studies, and biopsy results. If your referring doctor is not associated with Inova, we will ask for the contact information for your doctor’s office. In the days leading up to your visit to ISCI, our staff will call you with additional information. After your meet with your ISCI doctor, the treatment recommendations are communicated to you and your referring doctor.

    Inova Head and Neck Cancer Program specialize in the treatment of cancer that starts in the head and neck. This includes cancer of the mouth, nasal cavity, sinuses, salivary glands, voice box and throat. Our care coordination is provided through a multidisciplinary approach where surgical, medical and radiation oncologists are at the same location, working on your personalized treatment plan. Each patient will have access to a Life with Cancer® dietitian that will help provide counseling and support classes to help you through this difficult time.
