The Goals of the Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program are to: Support the mission, vision and values of Inova Health System to provide world-class healthcare – every time, every touch – to each person in every community we have the privilege to serve. Develop advanced knowledge and clinical decision making in clinicians who are independent and self-motivated learners. This is through rigorous academic and clinical components of the curriculum to succeed in orthopedic specialty physical therapy practice.

Our program purpose is to promote clinical excellence by developing skilled clinicians through high-quality education in orthopedics with a devotion to patient care, mentorship and a commitment to community. The Inova Parkinson's and Movement Disorder Center and physicians are active in the academic world of Parkinson's and movement disorders research. We are consistently on the shortlist of U.S. hospitals selected to study the latest advances in treatments, including trials for Parkinson’s and movement disorder conditions. We are dedicated to staying on the leading edge of new methods to diagnose and treat various conditions and in fact were among the first wave of hospital in the U.S. to utilize DBS remote neurostimulation therapy.

Movement disorders can take a toll on every aspect of your life. They impact not only your movement, but also your mood, cognition and other non-motor systems. Our specialists have completed extra training through fellowships to understand and treat every facet of your disease.
