Jean A Donet, MD

Dr. Jean Donet is a specialty care physician board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine at Inova Health System. He joined Inova in 2023 and has been practicing since 2012. Dr. Donet received his medical degree from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo in Peru, followed by an internal medicine residency then a general Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL. He then completed advanced fellowship training in inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Donet worked at the Veteran Affairs Central California Healthcare System and Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, CA, with an academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Donet’s clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of patients with Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and general gastroenterology conditions, as well as endoscopic procedures such as upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy. Dr. Donet serves on the social media team for the IBD Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Journal since 2021. Dr. Donet’s native language is Spanish, and he is an advanced English speaker.
