Ashley Virts, RN, MSN-FNP

Ashley Virts, RN, MSN-FNP, is the Vice President of Nursing for the Inova Pediatric Service Line. An accomplished executive nurse leader, Ashley garners a wealth of clinical and operational knowledge in varying subspecialties including women’s, pediatrics, heart and vascular, critical care and neurosciences. She is a people-focused leader and empathetic patient advocate with extensive experience navigating the complexities of patient-centered operations at Inova Health System. She current serves as CNO of Inova Loudoun Hospital, and oversees all aspects of nursing care to ensure that every patient receives safe, transparent and quality care. She is also the VP of Nursing for the Inova Pediatric Service Line. Ashley began her career at Inova in 2008 as a Nurse Extern in the Labor and Delivery unit at Inova Fairfax Hospital. She then worked in post-partum care known as Family Centered Care (FCC) for seven years where she served as Clinical Director of FCC and Lactation and Interim Senior Director of Nursing for Inova Women’s Hospital. From January 2017 to October 2019, Ashley held varying nurse leadership positions at IFMC including Interim Senior Director of Nursing for Critical Care and Neurosciences, Senior Director of Nursing for Inova Children’s Hospital, AVP of Nursing for Inova Children’s Hospital and AVP of Nursing for Inova Heart and Vascular Institute. Ashley is committed to nursing excellence and strives to foster a goal-oriented environment supported by enhanced team member engagement, continuous evidence-based improvements and world-class patient care.
