Program Competencies The purpose of the program is the development of highly qualified early careerists with the goal of maximizing their potential within the following leadership competencies: Leads Self: Embraces curiosity, self-awareness and values learning. Leads Outcomes: Establishes system-aligned priorities and metrics and ensures team is focused on important work. What Should I Expect? You will be assigned a mentor and preceptor who will help guide and coach you throughout your time with us. You will attend professional development sessions to help prepare you for your future. You will be introduced to different executive-level roles and learn tips and tricks to turning your fellowship experience into a full-time position as an Inova Team Member. Fellows will work with increasing autonomy and responsibility to produce various deliverables or lead various teams prior to completing the program. The primary goal of the program is to develop participants in the areas of healthcare operations, knowledge, and skill set to successfully assume leadership roles in health system administration. See our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Program Structure The focus of the Administrative Fellowship Program is to develop a pipeline of transformational leaders to strengthen our drive towards excellence. To establish the key themes of systemness, seamlessness and stewardship, the Administrative Fellowship Program has been designed with an inclusive design to learning and leadership development. Comprehensive Learning Approach: Inova's learning approach includes varying leadership development opportunities as well as advisory support and executive coaching to advance the fellow’s leadership skills during their rotations and capstone project work. Service Line drive Rotations: Every administrative fellow will complete (2) four-month rotations within one of Inova’s Service Line. The fellow will work closely with the service line leadership to gain exposure to understanding the administrative, operational and improvement aspects within their specific opportunity. Sites of Care Experience: Each fellow will have the opportunity to gain operational experiences within various sites of care. As a comprehensive health system, it is important Inova’s fellows understand the enterprise-wide impact when Inova’s executive leadership make decisions. Each fellow will have the opportunity to experience the Inova Health System through attendance of enterprise-wide committees and meetings.
