Ahmad Safra, MD

Dr. Ahmad Safra is a board-certified transplant and general surgeon. He joined Inova Health System in 2021 and has been practicing since 2006.  Dr. Safra completed a fellowship in multi-organ transplant where he gained extensive experience in liver, kidney and pancreas transplant in addition to hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery. During his training, he also developed a special interest in robotic surgery. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Safra was a transplant surgeon in the state of Indiana.  Dr. Safra strives to provide life-changing care to patients suffering from end-stage organ failure. He believes it is a great privilege to be able to utilize a person’s gift to transform another person’s life. He aims to provide the best quality of care for patients undergoing organ transplant. “There is nothing more amazing than seeing our patients getting through the transplant process and returning back to their normal life with a functioning organ.”   Dr. Safra resides in Oakton, VA, with his wife and twin daughters.
