David P Blake, MD

Dr. David Blake is an Acute Care Surgeon board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He joined Inova Medical Group in 2019, after 34 years of active military service. He has a special interest in management of patients who are critically ill following critical illness or traumatic injury, with a particular interest in disaster response, surgical infections, and quality/process improvement. Dr. Blake’s prior military experience included numerous leadership positions, including Trauma Director/Theater Trauma Consultant in Iraq and Deputy Commander for Clinical Services/Theater Trauma Consultant in Afghanistan. He is currently active with several national organizations, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and a member of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma and Surgical Infection Society.
