Karla H Pillote, NP

Karla Hoke Pillote is a certified adult nurse practitioner. She joined Inova Health System in 2022 and has been practicing since 1987. She has experience in hepatology, liver transplant, hepatobiliary issues, infectious diseases and human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Prior to joining Inova, Karla was a senior nurse practitioner at Johns Hopkins University’s transplant hepatology program. She was an advanced practice clinician responsible for the care of chronic liver disease patients, cirrhosis patients, and liver transplant patients (both before and after transplant). She is interested in the clinical management of chronic liver disease, working with patients to get to liver transplant and guiding them through post-transplant care. Her additional clinical interests include alcoholic liver disease, autoimmune liver disease and viral hepatitis. Karla’s philosophy of care is that of a teacher, helping patients understand and manage their health issues. Outside of the office, Karla likes to be in her garden or by the water.
