Katie received her Bachelor's Degree with top honors in Health Sciences and Administration from James Madison University in 1998. She then received a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in 2002 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2004, also from Shenandoah University. She was worked for Inova since 2004. Katie has an orthopedic background in the Maitland approach to spine conditions but also has extensive experience with various diagnoses and pathologies of the shoulder, hip and knee. Katie has received intensive training in dry needling. Katie also has expertise in treating female pelvic floor dysfunction as well as male pelvic floor dysfunction with a specialty in patients s/p prostatectomy. She is also the Coordinator of Clinical Education for Inova Physical Therapy Centers and is a Certified Clinical Instructor through the American Physical Therapy Association. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Virginia Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Therapists.
