Lyda P Susemihl, MD

L. Patricia Susemihl, MD is a pediatric physician board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She speaks English and Spanish. Dr. Susemilh received her medical education at the University of Alabama, Birmingham and was accepted for Residency with the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children Pediatric Residency Program.    She has received the following awards and special recognition: Ziai Award of Excellence from the Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children - Primary Care Pediatrician of the Year, 2007, 2014, and 2017 Inova Children's Hospital Pediatric Teaching Award, 2016 VCU School of Medicine excellence in teaching Certificate of Recognition, 2016 VCU School of Medicine - Top Community Preceptor, Pediatrics, 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 Dr. Susemihl believes in the power of education. She leads the clinic "Reach Out and Read" program, through which every child from age 6 months to 5 years receives an age and language appropriate book at every well-child visit. When she has a few moments to relax, she enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, knitting, and spending time outdoors.
