Michael B Foster, MD

Dr. Michael Foster is a board-certified physician in the field of Interventional Cardiology and General Cardiology. He is a registered physician in vascular interpretation (RPVI). He joined Inova Medical Group with more than 8 years of clinical experience. He has a special interest in the invasive management of coronary artery disease with balloon angioplasty and stents. He is skilled in radial artery access, which offers most patients earlier recovery times and lower risks of complications. He also manages peripheral artery disease, offering both non-invasive and endovascular revascularization options. He is available to assist patients who may have critical limb ischemia and non-healing wounds. Dr. Foster became interested in cardiology because of the fulfilling doctor-patient relationships that develop from treating adults with a high burden of disease. He loves the field because it offers doctors the ability to stay on the "cutting edge" of medicine. He enjoys the challenge of treating a very aggressive disease process with both medications and endovascular treatment options. His goal is to help patients make informed decisions so they feel empowered to become part of the Inova team. A native of Shreveport, Louisiana, Dr. Foster resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, three daughters, and their bulldog. In his spare time, Dr. Foster enjoys spending time with his children in the outdoors.
