Dr. MacArthur is a board-certified and fellowship-trained primary care sports medicine physician. With more than 10 years of experience, he has a special interest in the prevention and management of all musculoskeletal and athletic injuries, as well as the use of diagnostic ultrasound, therapeutic platelet-rich plasma, prolotherapy and ultrasound-guided procedures. Dr. MacArthur currently serves as a consulting team physician for the Washington Nationals and as head team physician for the semi-pro ultimate frisbee team, the DC Breeze. Previously, Dr. MacArthur served as a team physician for the Washington Commanders for a period of five years and has provided medical care for D.C. United and the Potomac Nationals. Dr. MacArthur became interested in sports medicine because of his own interest in sports and active living. His goal is to help his patients of all ages return to their desired activity level as quickly and safely as possible. A native of the Washington, DC, metro area, Dr. MacArthur currently resides in Capitol Hill. In his spare time he enjoys running, biking, participating in recreational sports and spending time with his family. He has completed the Baltimore Marathon and numerous other races.
