Dr. Priya Patel is an interventional pulmonologist who is board certified in interventional pulmonology, pulmonary disease, critical care and internal medicine. She joined Inova Health System in 2020 with more than nine years of clinical experience. Her primary focus revolves around interventional pulmonology with formal training in procedures such as flexible/rigid bronchoscopy, electromagnetic navigation and robotic bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy (EBUS), medical thoracoscopy (pleuroscopy), tunneled pleural catheter placement, as well as tracheostomy and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube placement. Dr. Patel became interested in interventional pulmonology as it provides patients with lung disease and cancer opportunities to breathe better. She has a special interest in the management of complex airways and pleural diseases, lung cancer, procedural education and procedure related quality improvement initiatives. A native of Florida, Dr. Patel currently resides in Vienna, VA, with her husband and Siberian Husky. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking with her Husky and cooking.
