Stephen E Varga, MD

Dr. Stephen Varga is a specialty care physician board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He joined Inova Medical Group with more than 13 years of clinical experience. He has a special interest in management of trauma patients, emergency general surgery and critical care medicine. Dr. Varga’s interest in trauma and emergency general surgery was instilled and nourished through his time as an Air Force surgeon, providing life-saving treatment to wounded soldiers in Afghanistan and in the U.S. His goal is to utilize the recent advances in trauma care to help patients recover rapidly. Dr. Varga is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, with an additional set of specialized skills in surgical education via simulation training.
