Teja Poosarla, MD

Dr. Teja Poosarla is a board-certified medical oncologist. She joined Inova Health System in 2022 and has been practicing since 2012. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Poosarla worked as the lead breast medical oncologist at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL. In this role, she facilitated the development of the breast program with a strong clinical focus and implemented the multidisciplinary breast team to provide patients with the best care possible. Additionally, she established the breast clinical trial program and was the principle investigator on nine different Phase I-III clinical trials in all subsets of breast cancer. Dr. Poosarla was also the associate director of the cardio-oncology program and collaborated with cardiology to provide breast patients with cardioprotective resources.
