Tushar G Patel, MD

Dr. Patel, board certified in internal medicine, joins Inova Medical Group with more than 26 years of medical practice experience. Prior to joining Inova, he was in private practice in Richlands, VA. In addition he served as the medical director for group homes at Baxter House and Mountain View Group Home, homes for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities. He also served as the medical director for Reddys’ Tricounty Health Clinic and is a former chief-of-staff at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands. He has a special interest in preventive medicine and geriatric medicine. Dr. Patel decided to practice internal medicine because it allows him to treat a broad spectrum of adult diseases involving multiple organs, like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart diseases and arthritis. The favorite part of his job is becoming a health partner with his patients in preventing and treating various diseases. In his spare time he likes to read, exercise, and spend time with his family.
