Wayne B Batchelor, MD

Dr. Wayne Batchelor is a cardiologist with expertise in coronary disease, structural valvular heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease and clinical research in interventional cardiology. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease with added qualifications in interventional cardiology. He joined Inova Medical Group as the Director of Interventional Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Research with more than 20 years of clinical and research experience. He has proctored other cardiologists on multiple procedures, including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), percutaneous mitral valve repair and transradial coronary stent procedures. Most recently, Dr. Batchelor served in Tallahassee, Florida as an Interventional Cardiologist at Southern Medical Group, P.A., President of the Tallahassee Research Institute, Associate Professor of Medicine at the Florida State University College of Medicine and former Chair of the Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare Medical Staff Executive. Dr. Batchelor became interested in interventional cardiology as it allows him to combine direct patient care, intervention and innovation within a single field. His goal is to help his patients achieve optimal out-comes through the prudent application of the most state-of-the-art minimally invasive cardiac procedures. A native of Kingston, Jamaica, he grew up in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Dr. Batchelor resides in Northern Virginia with his family. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
