Visit the Application Portal Program Aims The Inova Internal Medicine Residency Program’s overall purpose is to maintain and improve the health of adults in Northern Virginia and surrounding communities by educating resident physicians skilled in the practice of internal medicine. Our goal is to provide a structured, high quality educational experience and training with the ultimate goal of graduating outstanding comprehensive internists capable of managing diverse patients with a broad range of diseases and ready to enter practice in either general internal medicine or an internal medicine sub-specialty fellowship. We will assist the residents in developing the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to become an independent practitioner.
