One of the most tangible ways we demonstrate this philosophy is through our annual Inova Team Member Experience Survey. In light of recent surges in patient volumes and to ensure all team members have the chance to have their voices heard, the deadline for this year’s survey has been extended to Wednesday, November 30.  We recognize the last couple of years have presented challenges and hurdles that we continue to work through together. Please don’t look at this survey as another "to do." View video Take the Survey Frequently Asked Questions How do I access the survey? Expand Content Participating is quick and easy. There are two ways to access the survey: All team members will be sent an invitation to the survey on Tuesday, October 25 to their primary email on file. This could be either your Inova email or personal email. Click on the unique survey link in your email or copy and paste the link into your web browser. This link is specific to you. Please do not share your link with others. OR Go to perceptyx.com/inova2022 to access the survey. You will use your Inova email address as your username and then select the month and day of your birthdate as your password. (Non-employed providers, please use the email you have in file with medical staff) Why is Inova conducting a team member experience survey? Now, more than ever, we want you to know that we are listening to your feedback and we want your voice to be heard. This is how we continue to strengthen our commitment to your success as we create a world-class culture and brings us closer to our vision of being among the leading health systems in the nation! Why are we using the third-party vendor Perceptyx to conduct the survey? Expand Content Again this year, Inova has partnered with Perceptyx, an independent consulting company, to administer our survey and ensure confidentiality of responses. Perceptyx is a leader in the experience surveying and analytics industry, and partners with hundreds of companies to advance the development of workplaces that engage and inspire. The Perceptyx system is easy to use, provides fast results and summarizes findings so that leaders can take quick and meaningful action. Is the survey confidential? Expand Content Your responses are strictly confidential. No one at Inova can see your responses or know who participated. For departments which have fewer than five responses, your manager will not receive data for your team; the manager will only see the larger pool of data for the entire unit or department. This "roll-up" to the next level provides additional confidentiality. Hearing from a broad range of team members provides an accurate picture of areas where programs are working and parts of our organization that need attention. Insights help us shape the policies and programs that can improve team member experiences, resulting in satisfaction and retention. How many questions will appear on the survey? Expand Content This year, the survey has approximately 60 questions. It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your feedback is an important component in helping to strengthen Inova's culture, shape our future and build an even better place to work. Is everyone invited to participate? Expand Content All Inova team members and community physicians are invited to participate. Contractors are not included. Is the survey mobile friendly? Expand Content Yes, the survey can be accessed on a mobile device or computer. Can I access the survey if I am working remotely? Expand Content Yes, the survey can be accessed remotely from your computer or mobile device. Will there be open-ended questions? Expand Content Yes, there are a few open-ended questions in which we encourage you to share your feedback on what we are doing well and what needs some extra attention. Your feedback will continue to help Inova drive positive change and create an environment where Inova team members can thrive. Please do not include any personally identifiable information in your response. How does the survey define my manager, my team, my department and senior leadership? Expand Content My manager: The individual to whom you directly report. My team: The individuals in your immediate team, unit or work group, including your manager. My department: Your team plus other individuals or teams that make up your functional area within the organization. Senior leadership: The top leaders of Inova including the CEO, hospital presidents, service line presidents and other executives. If a team member is on a medical leave of absence or short-term disability (STD), does he or she still take the survey? Expand Content Even if a team member is on leave they will be sent an invitation to complete the survey in the event that they return before the survey closes on November 30. However, if a team member is on leave for the duration of the survey without access to their Inova email addresses they will not be able to take the survey. Do new hires take the survey? Expand Content Team members active as of Monday, October 10 will take the survey. Team members hired after this date will not take this year's survey. Are there specific questions directed at physicians and APPs? Expand Content Yes, there are specific question in this survey specifically for physicians and APPs. Additionally, non-employed providers will be given a subset of the full survey questions that are most applicable to them. Are there specific questions for team members working remotely? Expand Content Yes, there are three questions in this survey specifically to receive feedback from team members working remotely or hybrid. Are there specific questions on burnout? Expand Content While we recognize anyone is subject to burnout, the pressure of the pandemic has not only highlighted it, but also exacerbated on clinical roles. For this year, we decided to keep burnout-specific questions for clinical roles. Next year, we will consider including a section for all team members. In the meantime, Inova will continue building resources that benefit all team members. If I get interrupted while taking the survey, can I return to finish later? Expand Content Yes. Each time team members click to the next page button, responses are saved. Team members can use the unique link in the email invitation or access the survey through perceptyx.com/inova2022 to reenter the survey and pick up where they left off. After the survey ends, when do people leaders see results? Expand Content People leaders will get the results by early December. This quick turnaround time is aimed to help people leaders meet with their teams to thoughtfully review the results and take action if needed. What are the next steps after people leaders receive the results? Expand Content All leaders are highly encouraged to create an action plan. They need to review the results with their teams and determine a plan to address any concerns or areas for growth. Once the plan is finalized, leaders must input the plan into the Perceptyx Action Planning tool. Will people leaders receive training/tools to help interpret and act on the survey results? Expand Content Yes, a variety of tools and resources, including benchmark comparisons and guidance for action planning, are available to help people leaders assess their results and conduct effective team discussions. People leaders will be notified when the resources are available. How does Inova plan to use the results to make improvements? Expand Content Inova leadership wants to create an environment where team members can develop and thrive. This survey provides information as to how we are progressing in Our Drive to Excellence and living our values of Patient Always, Our People, One Team, Integrity and Excellence. As in years past, we will evaluate the results and use them to continue to strengthen our organization. This is how we continue to strengthen our commitment to your success as we create a world-class culture and organization. Inova's senior leaders will incorporate the findings from the survey into our annual people strategy, our operational improvement plans, and our strategic plan. Individual leaders are highly encouraged to create an action plan for their team, using the results to address issues that can be resolved at the local level. This action plan is to be captured in the Perceptyx Action Planning tool. Who do I contact if I have additional questions about the survey?
