About the Inova Vascular Neurology Clinic (Stroke Clinic) The Inova Vascular Neurology Clinic functions as a comprehensive stroke clinic that provides non-acute care to patients with stroke and other neurovascular processes with a confirmed stroke, TIA or pathology of the cerebrovasculature in order to augment the care provided to our stroke patients via expert consultations and expanded community care. We have a multidisciplinary and patient centered approach to provide neurovascular services for our community where patients can be seen by highly trained vascular neurologists. Why Have a Specialized Inova Vascular Neurology Clinic? The clinic has an important role for ongoing support to these types of stroke patients and their families that when needed helps to avoid otherwise a readmission to the hospital. This service is considered a "wrap-around service" so that all the patient’s care is provided under the Inova umbrella via an interdisciplinary team that will improve our patient’s outcomes and quality of life in the day to day needs that may arise. We provide services for patients with neurovascular process in these areas: Access to clinical trials Acute ischemic strokes Cerebral vasculitides Cervical and intracranial vessel dissections Collaborative network with other specialties: Neuro Interventional Radiology, Neurosurgery, Rehabilitation Services, Cardiology and many others Hemorrhagic strokes Primary and secondary stroke prevention Social support services Transient ischemic attacks Others Our Location We currently have one location in the Inova Center for Personalized Health building (across the street from Inova Fairfax Medical Campus) in the ninth floor Inova Neurology clinical suite. A person can choose between the two types of appointments noting for our services that the telehealth option is limited because a thorough physical exam (an integral portion of neurologic clinical assessment) would not be possible. As of now, only discharged patients from the Inova Stroke hospital inpatient services and special referrals are accepted.
