At Inova, you will always be treated with compassion and concern. Your First Steps Once your procedure has been scheduled, please: 1.) Read your care site’s comprehensive Preparing for Your Procedure guide below, which includes information on how to prepare, what to expect once you arrive at the hospital and how to plan for your care after surgery. 2.) Schedule your pre-operative interview. On the first page of your care site’s Preparing for Your Procedure guide, you will find scheduling instructions. The pre-operative interview usually takes 30 to 90 minutes and may happen via phone or in person based on your needs. 3.) Prepare for your pre-operative phone interview or visit by completing the preprocedural appointment worksheet in the Preparing for Your Procedure guide. Please have it available for your scheduled phone interview or bring it to your pre-operative visit. If you have access to MyChart, please complete your medical history online.
